Earlier this month, Booker T defended the idea of Goldberg getting a World Title shot in his retirement match, but following Goldberg’s recent comments, how does he feel now?
On the latest episode of The Hall of Fame Podcast, NXT commentator Booker T spoke about Goldberg’s retirement match, believing that despite the WCW legend’s complaints believes WWE did a great job with his last match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
“I couldn’t agree with you more, I think [they] did a great job. I thought it was a great sendoff,” Booker T said. “For him to actually be headlining something like that, that’s just like a pay-per-view… his sendoff was definitely better than a lot of guys. A lot of guys don’t get that. A lot of guys don’t get a last match.”
While touching on Goldberg’s complaints that his speech got cut off by NBC, Booker believes that the speech was meant more for the Georgia crowd anyway.
“I thought the speech was meant for the Georgia fans,” Booker T said. “I thought that would have been more for them than anything. I’m thinking, ‘all those guys, for that ride’… the intimacy with Georgia meant more for Bill Goldberg than the masses.” [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
