Alexa Bliss‘ surprise return earlier this year at the WWE Royal Rumble was a lot more last-minute than anyone predicted.
SmackDown Superstar Alexa Bliss was a recent guest on the Nikki & Brie Show. While discussing her WWE return earlier this year at the Royal Rumble, Bliss revealed that her return wasn’t decided until 4 AM the day of the event.
“I got the call at midnight the night before. It wasn’t fully decided until 4 AM,” Alexa Bliss revealed. “I get a call at 5, ‘Alright, we need you on a plane by 10 AM.’ Flew to Cincinnati, got driven in (to Indianapolis), had to cover up, got snuck into a back room. There was hair and makeup. I didn’t get there until 4. We were the first match starting at 6. I got there at 4, I have someone in there who is ready to do my hair.

“I haven’t slept because that was an all-night process of figuring out, I hadn’t slept, I hadn’t eaten, I was deliriously tired. I’m in my house at 3 AM with a phone light because I’m not trying to wake up the baby, because my gear is next to her closet. I’m looking through old gear, ‘Okay, what can still fit me?’ I told Ryan [Cabrera] at 4 AM, ‘I think I’m going to Rumble.’ ‘Huh?’ ‘Do you want to come?’ ‘I’m so tired. What?’ ‘Never mind.’ I get on a plane, go, and no one knew I was there. The girls didn’t know I was there until I was in Gorilla. No one knew I was there.” [H/T: Fightful]
