Los Garza made history by winning the AAA Tag Team Titles at AAA Triplemania Regia.
WWE officially acquired Mexico’s top wrestling promotion, AAA Lucha Libre earlier this year. Recently, the company confirmed that Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, known together as Los Garza, would compete at AAA’s biggest annual event, Triplemania Regia.
AAA’s Triplemanía Regia took place at Arena Monterrey in Nuevo León, Mexico. Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo of Los Garza competed in a four-way tag team match for the AAA World Tag Team Championship.
The match featured Nueva Generación Dinamita (Sansón and Forastero), The Nemeth Brothers (Nic Nemeth and Ryan Nemeth), and Psycho Clown and Pagano. Los Garza made history when they hit Forastero with a huge slam for the win.
Following their win, Marisela Pena presented them with the titles at ringside. This victory marks Los Garza’s first reign as AAA World Tag Team Champions. It also adds a new chapter to their legacy, especially now AAA under WWE’s banner.
At Triplemania AAA, it was announced that WWE will host two back-to-back Supershow Mexico shows in late July. The first will take place on Saturday, July 26, at Arena CDMX in Mexico City, and the second will follow on Sunday, July 27, at Arena Monterrey. With Los Garza now holding the AAA tag team titles, it will be interesting to see if they’ll defend the gold at either of these shows.
