It has become a tradition in WWE to conduct press conferences after a Premium Live Event or a major show, such as the Netflix debut of Monday Night Raw. The press conferences mostly feature the stars who emerged victorious that night. Sometimes it will also feature a returning WWE Superstar. The conference will conclude with WWE CCO Triple H.
Recently, WWE Hall of Famer JBL shared why he is not a fan of post-show press conferences. While speaking on the latest episode of the Something To Wrestle Podcast, JBL shared that he believes that the post-show press conferences are terrible due to the grey area of it being a work or a shoot.
He says it is difficult to try and answer all kinds of questions, as some might require the star to stay in character, while others might not. JBL believes it is difficult to do both at the same time.
“Those press conferences are horrible. I hate them because there’s no way to win with those things, because you want to either stay in character or not stay in character. It’s hard to do both,” JBL said. “It’s hard to work and then also shoot on those things. I don’t, I don’t get the press conferences.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
John Bradshaw Layfield also appreciated Triple H for the way he handled to situation with R-Truth. Last week WWE had released R-Truth. But after fans had voiced out their support for Truth, WWE hired him back just after a week.
“I like what Triple H did, because he kept the intrigue of maybe this was a work all along, and so now you don’t know what is… I love that, because that blurs that line. And I think, I think that’s important to blur that line,” he explained. “Right now is the easiest time to work people. They expect you to be completely transparent. So now is the easiest time to work people,” JBL said.
