It has become very common for wrestlers to jump from one promotion to another once their contract comes to an end. Mostly, it is because they are unhappy with their booking in the existing promotion. Former WWE United States Champion Ricochet signed with AEW after his WWE contract had expired last year.
Although Ricochet debuted in AEW as a baby face, the One and Only is currently positioned as a heel. His first match in the promotion was at the All In Pay-per-view in London, England in August 2024. While Ricochet has had a lot of title opportunities, he has never been able to capture championship gold.
A fan recently took to Twitter, mentioning the fact that The One and Only has not won a championship in AEW, and also claimed that the main reason he left WWE was because he did not get enough championship opportunities.
Ricochet replied to the fan claiming that championship opportunities were not the reason he left WWE. The One and Only stated that he lost the love and passion for the sport of professional wrestling while working in WWE. Now, the Jacksonville-based promotion has helped Ricochet find the love and passion for wrestling once again.
“No, the main reason was that the WWE ruined my love and passion for the sport that I grew up loving. AEW helped me find that love again,” Ricochet tweeted.
