Drew McIntyre says a top WWE Superstar is his kryptonite.
Ahead of his big WarGames match this Saturday at Survivor Series, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre spoke on Busted Open Radio. During the conversation, he opened up about the most vicious and personal rivalries of his entire WWE career and named Roman Reigns as his kryptonite.
“The Roman one, obviously, the biggest loss of my career,” Drew McIntyre began. “It was the first stadium show in the UK for 30 years since SummerSlam 1992. It was set up perfect for me to get the big win in front of my people.
“That’s when Roman was the bad guy, but everyone’s cheering him every night, and that night I was expecting it to be 70-30, but everyone was on my side, it was all perfect. Tonight was gonna be Drew McIntyre’s night, and Solo debuted and screwed me.
“Like every freakin title match I’ve had. I think I’ve had 19 title matches, maybe not, someone told me on social media that I’ve been screwed out of. But that’s the night, that freakin sucks.
“Roman’s been my kryptonite. I’ve wrestled him a bunch of times over the years and never won. And I ended the night singing with Tyson Fury, which is the lowest point of my entire career. I wish I can take it back, Drew McIntyre said.

“Seth and I have always had a great back-and-forth rivalry,” Drew McIntyre continued. “It has always been a professional rivalry rather than personal, like who’s the better man. We both believe we should be the ones leading the future of the industry.
“And then there’s Punk. That wasn’t professional, no, that was personal. We literally can’t stand each other… Punk was sitting on the shelf with his pathetic little muscles and bones that break all the time. I was the one doing all the freakin work, and then he came back to work. Then it went to the next level, but if you ask everyone else, that would be the number one.
“Yeah, over the years, Randy and I have had some great programs. The big one that people probably won’t talk about in the future so much, as the pandemic, it just disappears in everyone’s minds, which is hard for me, since I had the title for 300 days and did some of my best work during that time.
“I knew I had to step up and prove that I belong at the top level, and that’s when I got Randy for the first time in a long-term program. I had to prove I can keep up in the ring with Randy Orton at a top level, and I had to prove I can keep up on the microphone at the top level.
“Randy really pushed me during that period, got me to that level, and then now, Randy, much like myself, looks like he’s eating Randy, becoming even bigger. So I can’t wait to get another long-term with Randy as the new giant version. He could just start beating me up and throwing me around,” Drew McIntyre said.
