The debut of Sheamus in WWE could have gone very differently if an original pitch had seen the light of day.
Sheamus debuted as a force to be reckoned with in WWE‘s ECW brand before being fast-tracked to RAW, where he would go on to defeat John Cena for the WWE Championship at TLC in 2009. But things could have ended up going much differently.
WWE Superstar Sheamus was a recent guest on Cheap Heat Live. During the show, The Celtic Warrior revealed a wild pitch for his main roster debut, which would have seen him appear alongside Finlay and Hornswoggle.
“I was getting information… kind of down the pipeline,” Sheamus said. “There was something at one stage. I was supposed to go back for Christmas. I think I was there in FCW a year. And then all of a sudden, I was told, oh, I’m gonna debut with Finlay and Hornswoggle, who was in an angle with Mark Henry and Tony Atlas at the time. So I was like, ‘Oh sh*t, I better get ready for that’ and then that didn’t happen.” [H/T: Fightful]
