Pat McAfee has hit back at fans celebrating his WWE hiatus.
McAfee hasn’t appeared on wrestling television in quite some time with this past Monday’s RAW marking his third consecutive week of absence from the broadcast table. NXT commentator Corey Graves is subbing for McAfee on WWE’s flagship show.
Pat McAfee recently took to social media to react to fans celebrating his WWE hiatus. McAfee’s tweet included an excerpt from his original quote regarding his demanding schedule before following up with screenshots of negative comments from the IWC.
“I was getting pretty exhausted.. I produce/host a 5 day a week show, have been on the go every week since Dublin last year before College Football.. plus I run my growing company with 14 employees and have a 2 year old daughter”
“YOU’RE NOT EXHAUSTED ENOUGH BITCH.. NEED YA TO TAKE A DIRT NAP” ~ The IWC (Internet Wrestling Community) Thank you all so much. Excited for the future of my life,” McAfee wrote.

Pat McAfee injured his eye at WWE Backlash
Pat McAfee returned to in-ring action at WWE Backlash 2025. McAfee took on Gunther in singles action. During the match, Michael Cole tried to cause a major distraction for Gunther but the Ring General proved to be too much for McAfee.
McAfee appeared on RAW after Backlash to reveal he suffered an eye injury during the extremely physical match against Gunther. According to McAfee, one of Gunther’s chops popped a blood vessel in his eye at the May 10 PLE.
Gunther is set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Goldberg at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. It remains to be seen if Pat McAfee will be on commentary for the Ring General’s title defense against the WWE Hall of Famer.
