CJ Perry recalls having to practice the on-screen kiss with Dolph Ziggler in front of Vince McMahon.
Former WWE star CJ Perry (Lana) was a guest on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast. She addressed her romantic storylines during the conversation and revealed that she and Dolph Ziggler had to practice their on-screen kiss in front of Vince McMahon, while her now-husband Rusev was in the room.
Perry also recalled Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis “getting super close” to demonstrate how they should pull off the kiss.
“Yeah, it was a little awkward when I had to practice that kiss with Dolph and my, at the time, boyfriend was in the room,” CJ Perry began. “The whole thing was so funny, because Johnny Ace and Vince show what we need to do, and they get up real close, real super close.
“Yeah, showing how it needs to be done. We’re giggling, and Vince is like, ‘No, we’re all professionals here. We’re all grown adults.’ So that already helped me go, okay, these grown men are very, you know, it is very professional.”
CJ Perry Also Talked About Liv Morgan Interrupting Her Wedding To Bobby Lashley
Speaking further, CJ Perry also talked about Liv Morgan interrupting her on-screen wedding segment with Bobby Lashley on the December 30, 2019, episode of RAW.
Perry revealed that Paul Heyman was responsible for the storyline and that Ruby Riott and Sonya Deville were also considered for Liv Morgan’s role in the angle.
“So this, again, was a Paul Heyman story,” CJ Perry continued, “and I thought it was great, because I thought someone was going to interrupt. I thought Liv was gonna interrupt for Bobby Lashley, and I liked the spin on it. I didn’t know it was gonna be Liv Morgan. He originally said, we’re thinking about maybe Ruby, Liv, Daria. All of them really made sense to me. All of them, yeah, it really connected to me. We were just told that week by week, we’re gonna figure it out.
“And so me and Liv wanted to commit to it fully. We are very close friends. We had spent a lot of time together, and yeah, I had, throughout my life, dealt with my own sexuality. Not issues, what’s the right word? I guess, not being fully straight, questioning my own sexuality throughout my life. So to me, I identified to it completely. The fans [thought] it was polarizing. Some people really loved it, and other fans didn’t. And so who knows how the fans’ reaction affected it, I don’t know. But it leaves the door open, anything can happen. It’s wrestling, anything can happen,” CJ Perry said.
