WWE Hall of Famer and legend The Godfather recently opened up about The Undertaker‘s shocking loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX.
Speaking during a recent appearance on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast with O’Shea Jackson (via Wrestling News), The Godfather said that, like many, he was caught off guard by Lesnar winning. The legend revealed he was actually with The Undertaker the day of WrestleMania XXX, which added to his shock.
“It didn’t break my heart, but I was surprised Taker lost to Brock in the way that he did.” The Godfather said. “Because I was with him that day… we don’t talk about wrestling. And so I never knew that day that he was going to drop it.”
The loss saw Lesnar hand The Undertaker his first loss at the prestigious event in 21 appearances. After the show, The Godfather recounted how The Undertaker revealed he had suffered a serious injury in the match.
“I didn’t see him till the next day, and I was leaving for the airport… and I’m like, ‘Taker, you alright?’ He goes, ‘No. He goes, ‘I’m going to the hospital,’” said The Godfather. “He wasn’t there. I know him real well. You know, he wasn’t there.
“He got a really bad concussion in that match. And he don’t, like, even remember the whole, the whole match. He don’t even remember it.”
