Torrie Wilson was learning on the fly as a member of the WWE roster.
WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson appeared on the panel last night during the Evolution 2 Countdown show. While discussing the benefits of NXT to the current roster of women, Wilson reflected on her time in WWE and wondered how different things would be for her had she had an NXT to hone her craft in.
“I was just talking about this backstage,” Torrie Wilson said. “In my era, I didn’t really know what my job description was. Sometimes it was wrestler, sometimes it was ballet, sometimes it was being cute. And a lot of times, I learned moves, and then I had a match that night.
“So I literally was learning as I went, and the amount of stress and anxiety that that included was unbearable at times. And I just wonder if I would have had even a year at NXT to hone my entrance and learn how to wrestle properly, the stress would have been gone. I don’t know how technical I would have been.”
What do you make of Torrie Wilson’s comments? Do you think things would have been different for the women in WWE with a brand like NXT back in the day? Let us know your thoughts by sounding off in the comments section below.
