One of the most loved and popular wrestlers in professional wrestling was the late Bray Wyatt. Prior to being released from WWE back in 2021, Wyatt was working along with the Wicked Witch of WWE, Alexa Bliss.
Recently, Alexa Bliss was a special guest on the Nikki and Brie Show. During the episode, the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion discussed all the gimmicks that she has portrayed in the Stamford-based promotion.

Alexa Bliss then opened up about her experience working with the late Bray Wyatt. She shared how much the former WWE Universal Champion helped her in developing her character.
“When I started working with Windham, it was like, ‘Oh, so there needs to be research that goes into this,’” Bliss recalled. “He immediately, when I was joining his inner world of the Wyatts… was like, ‘Alright, you need to watch this documentary. Watch this documentary, watch this movie, watch this, research this.’ And because he had put so much into his character, it made me feel like, ‘Okay, I’m going into your world and I can’t be the one to mess it up.’”
What was the Playground Alexa Bliss Character based on?
Bliss then went on to reveal that her ‘Playground Alexa’ gimmick was based on the time when she was attacked by The Fiend.
“That was a character that was based on, you know, a traumatic event when I got attacked by the Fiend,” she explained. “What happens a lot of times, when people go through a traumatic instances, they kind of revert back into a child-like mind state… So that was kind of what I took from that into the playground Alexa character with Lily and with the pigtails and with the overalls… turning into playground Alexa was the coping mechanism,” Alexa Bliss said.
