An recent released talent recently worked behind the scenes in WWE.
Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT set the stage for the upcoming Great American Bash premium live event, which emanates from Atlanta, Georgia on July 11. Amongst the NXT card was a singles match pitting Kelani Jordan against Lainey Reid, with Chris Girard internally listed as a producer. Per a new report, another interesting name contributed to the match as well.
According to Bodyslam.net, WWE listed former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler as a producer of the respective match alongside Girard. Baszler departed WWE as a talent in early May, with the likes of Dakota Kai, Braun Strowman, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance and others following suit due to a round of releases. As of now, it is unclear if Baszler’s producing work was merely a one-off or potentially building to more.
Jordan, a former NXT Women’s North American Champion, defeated Reid in semi-quick fashion, courtesy of a One of a Kind Moonsault. Following this, Jordan will compete in the battle royal at WWE Evolution, where the winner earns a championship match at WWE Clash in Paris.
Amidst her eight-year career in WWE, Baszler enjoyed three reigns as a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. In WWE NXT, she claimed the NXT Women’s Championship on two occasions. As an in-ring talent, she is currently under a 90-day non-compete clause. Her last WWE match came on SmackDown in April in the form of a number one contender’s tag team gauntlet.
