Karrion Kross says the WWE locker room had some funny advice about his rumored lack of bumping.
Kross was the subject of a recent rumor that suggested WWE isn’t pushing him because he won’t take bumps in the ring. Kross first addressed it during an interview ahead of WWE Night Of Champions, and he’s now shared the WWE locker room’s reaction to it in a new interview.
Karrion Kross spoke with Adam Barnard of Foundation Radio, who asked Kross about the rumor, and what his favorite bump is. The former NXT Champion highlighted the humor in this story getting more traction that other “crazier” rumors.
Karrion Kross reacts to a rumor that he “refuses” to bump
“It’s hilarious. This story has not stood out to me as much as other stories that were fabricated about me over the years. There’s been far more crazier things, I’m surprised this one, of all things, got any traction. I don’t know… what’s my favorite bump? Nothing comes to mind, but maybe some of the ones that people hyper-focused on and thought something was wrong? [laughs] Maybe one of those was my favorite one.”
Karrion Kross also shared what the WWE locker room said he should do in response to it. Kross referenced Shawn Michaels’ ridiculous selling at SummerSlam 2005 and said he couldn’t go that far, but it gave everyone a good laugh backstage.
“It was funny, some of us were joking in the back. They’re like, ‘Dude, you should go out there and bump like Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan.’ And then some of the guys were like, ‘Maybe you should take absolutely no bumps, just don’t take any at all!’ But honestly, at the end of the day, I can’t do either of those because people are paying good money and spending very valuable time watching the show. I can’t turn the show into a joke for a strange subculture of people. I can’t do that, right? So obviously, as a professional, I would have never done that, but we were howling about it.”
