Karrion Kross lost in a surprising upset at WWE Night of Champions, even with strong support from fans.
He went one-on-one with Sami Zayn in a singles match. Zayn got the win after hitting Kross with his Helluva Kick and pinning him. Kross had been building momentum with solid performances recently and finally got a big opportunity at Night of Champions, but couldn’t secure the win.
After the match, Kross shared his thoughts on X, formerly known as Twitter. He said he never asked for shortcuts or special treatment. He thanked the fans in Saudi Arabia for their energy and appreciation and also thanked fans around the world for their constant support.
He wrote, “Didn’t ask for shortcuts. Didn’t ask for favors. We just showed up—every time—staying ready even when no one was watching. Saudi Arabia, you saw it. You felt it. And that means more than you know. To the rest of the world watching, With your never ending support; Thank you for reminding us who this is really for.”
Karrion Kross’s wife and on-screen partner, Scarlett, stood by his side at ringside during his match against Sami Zayn. After the show, she posted a message thanking the fans for supporting him. She wrote, “I’ve watched Kross give everything. For years. For this. Saudi Arabia, you saw him. You felt him. You respected him. And as someone who knows what he’s worth THANK YOU. I’ve never been more proud. #WWENOC.”
This was a special moment for both Karrion Kross and Scarlett, as it marked his first appearance on a premium live event after a year. The last time they appeared on a major WWE show was at WrestleMania 40 in 2024, where Kross competed in a six-man Philadelphia Street Fight.
Karrion Kross reacts to rumor he’s not getting pushed because he won’t take bumps
Ahead of Karrion Kross’ big match against Sami Zayn, a rumor emerged that WWE isn’t pushing him because he doesn’t want to take bumps in the ring. While speaking with Evelyn Lau from The National, Kross responded to the rumor by calling it one of the weakest he’s heard about himself.
“I thought out of all the crazy articles that are fabricated about me every week, that was the weakest,” Karrion Kross said, laughing. “There was another wild one I saw last week that was even funnier. It said something like, ‘Karrion Kross is going to come to Monday Night Raw and he’s going to quit and do a shoot promo live, and then walk out.’ I thought that was a good one. But I don’t really respond to any of them. There’s a crazy one about me every week or two. You just kind of have to laugh.”
