Dominik Mysterio was pulled from a scheduled match, but how long will he be sidelined?
Mysterio was scheduled to defend his Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles at Night of Champions. However, the match is now postponed, as RAW GM Adam Pearce informed Styles that Mysterio was hurt and couldn’t wrestle due to injury.
Some fans speculated that Dominik being pulled from the event was related to his or Styles’ opting out of traveling to Saudi Arabia for the event. Part of that apparent concern was related to the United States carrying out an attack against three of Iran’s nuclear facilities.
In response, Missiles were fired at a US Airbase in Qatar, which resulted in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates closing their respective airspaces. That resulted in several WWE production employees being stranded at the airport. However, that was not an issue, as PWInsider.com is reporting that the injury is legitimate.
What injury is Dominik Mysterio dealing with?
According to the outlet, Dominik Mysterio is dealing with a “rib cage issue.” It’s unclear how it happened, but Mysterio is not expected to be out for too much time.
On RAW, Pearce did say Styles should get the first title shot once Dom is cleared. Despite the offer, Pearce didn’t give any update on when that might be.
WWE Night of Champions will take place on June 28, 2025, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fully updated card includes:
- King of the Ring Tournament final: Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes or Jey Uso
- Queen of the Ring Tournament final: Roxanne Perez or Jade Cargill vs. Asuka
- Undisputed WWE Championship: John Cena (c) vs. CM Punk
- WWE United States Championship: Jacob Fatu (c) vs. Solo Sikoa
