Kevin Owens is not a fan of fake tans.
Owens was the latest guest on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast. During the conversation, Matt Cardona’s name was mentioned. Owens said he loved Cardona, but poked fun at the humor he sees in his “Indy God” moniker.
“The only thing I’ll say is: for a guy who loves being on the indies so much, he talks about how he wants to be back in WWE a lot,” Owens said, which caused Rhodes to do a spit-take. “You can’t call yourself ‘King of the Indies’ and then you’re going out there, telling people, ‘I don’t know why WWE hasn’t signed me! I don’t get it. If I was them, I definitely would have signed me!’
“Are you f*cking happy or not, dude? [laughs] That’s it! I love Matt. No problems, don’t like his tan. [I] told him this to his face,” Owens added.

“You don’t like a good wrestler tan?” Rhodes asked.
“No! Bron Breakker should be arrested,” Owens replied.
“What is it that offends you about Bron’s tan?” Rhodes asked. “Is it the color, or is it the fact that he’s not putting his arms up in the tanning bed?”
“None of it’s good,” Owens said. “None of it’s good. No, dude, you weren’t born that color. I understand if you want to be a little darker, but you can’t…”
“Bro, I’ve wrestled where I’m eight shades darker,” Cody interjected.
“You have [done that]? OK, well, I’m sure I would have judged you at that time too, but I didn’t happen to see those,” Owens said. “[But] if your tan looks like it could rub off on someone else, it’s too much! You know what I hate the most? When I try to go to the restroom before a match. I’m walking, I’ve got my boots on, the layer of fake tanner on the ground. I don’t care what the method is, anything that makes you look like that, and then you don’t clean up after yourself? Or what about the guys who go and trim their beard or armpits in front of the mirror before the show, and just leave the hair there? Psychopaths.”
