The hate(r) is strong in Xavier Woods.
Over the past few weeks, The New Day has been paying tribute to legends in the wrestling world. Previously, the duo paid homage to the wrestling veteran, the Giant Gonzalez.
Now, one-half of the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Xavier Woods, paid tribute to one of the most iconic sketches from Chappelle’s Show.
Last night on WWE Raw, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston addressed the WWE Universe during the commercial break. The New Day announced that they will be defending their WWE World Tag Team Championships at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event.

Xavier Woods was dressed in a fur coat with a red-brimmed hat. Some fans compared Woods’ look to WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather. Others said he looked like a pimp in general.
However, many fans took notice of this and compared the outfit to that of Silky Johnson, a popular Dave Chappelle character. Johnson appeared in the ninth episode of season one called “Blackzilla & Playa Haters’ Ball,” where he was a participant in the aforementioned Playa Haters’ Ball in the skit on the show.
Xavier Woods later paraphrased one of Johnson’s lines from the sketch, claiming The New Day was a shoo-in for tag team of the year.
