Octagon Jr. reacts to his match with Dominik Mysterio.
Former AAA Latin American Champion Octagon Jr. (aka Golden Magic) introduced himself to the WWE Universe at Worlds Collide. After the match, Octagon found himself in a heated confrontation with Dominik Mysterio — setting up an Intercontinental Championship match at WWE Money in the Bank.
Though the match outcome didn’t meet his expectations, Octagon Jr. loved stepping in the ring against “Dirty Dom.” He also talked about Triple H’s reaction to his performance at the June 7 PLE in Los Angeles. Check out his full comment from a new interview, courtesy of ropebreakx on TikTok.
“… I don’t expect to see him (Dominik Mysterio) very soon, I don’t know, I loved the match,” he said. “It wasn’t the result I wanted, but my triumph that night was facing him. So next time I’ll be calmer. My emotions were at 1000%, but next time I think we’ll see what happens. I hope they (WWE) call me again. I can’t tell you if yes or no, or against whom, but I’m ready, I’m preparing myself every day.”
Octagon Jr. recalls his father’s important advice
“My dad told me something good, you have to be prepared for when the opportunity comes and not prepare when the opportunity is already in front of you. No! You have to be 100% prepared. Your friend Octagón Jr. eats, sleeps, and breathes wrestling to seize the opportunity, just like that big one, my great achievement.
“Triple H also tweeted about the match. Thank you very much. Thanks to all the people who follow me on social media, to all the new fans. For those unaware, Golden Magic is the third wrestler to work the legendary moniker after Flamita and Kalisto. Fans will have to wait and see if Triple H brings back Magic for a WWE show somewhere down the line.
