Sabrina Carpenter continues to infiltrate the world of pro wrestling.
One week after her stunning debut in WWE NXT, wrestling fans finally learned the new ring name behind former AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May — Blake Monroe. This name is reportedly a tribute to May’s real-life niece Blake, as well as Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe.
Interestingly, the vignette revealing Blake Monroe’s name seems to take inspiration from another rising icon, pop star Sabrina Carpenter.
During her Short N’ Sweet tour in 2024, Carpenter brought forth a vintage aesthetic, with elements of both the 1950s and 1970s apparent throughout her concerts. Some of the elements were also incorporated in May’s vintage-styled vignette.
Ahead of the public ticket sale release for her tour, Carpenter appeared in a promotional video, holding a newspaper which read “She’s Getting Around!” and included a black and white image of herself. Similarly, the vignette promoting Monroe’s debut featured flashes of a newspaper that read “The Glamour Has Arrived In NXT!”

The Sabrina Carpenter & Blake Monroe Similarities Continue
To kick off each of the Short N’ Sweet tour shows, concert goers were treated to a video showing a vintage cartoon version of Carpenter walking throughout the city. She then boarded an elevator that went to a penthouse. After came the introduction to Short n’ Sweet TV. This was a spin on 70s variety shows, talk show host voice and all. Along with the talk show voice, Carpenter is then seen sitting in a bathtub and blowing bubbles before being reminded of her upcoming concert performance. From there, Carpenter ran down onto the stage and made her (slightly delayed) arrival while wrapped in a towel, which she removed to reveal her first outfit of the night.

Blake Monroe mirrored this introduction with a voiceover reminding her it was time to get out of her bathtub.
“Internationally adored by all. Because making people scream is nothing new to her,” said the voiceover while Monroe did her makeup. “She’s beauty, she’s grace, and she’ll probably punch you in the face. The Glamour doesn’t just walk into the spotlight, she’s the reason it exists. The Glamour is the girl you’ve been waiting for her.” After three attempts to introduce NXT’s newest face, Blake then removed her towel to reveal a black dress. A retro cartoon version of Blake appeared on screen afterward, confirming her new name.
