Shawn Michaels and Latin Lover recently got the chance to recreate a famous photo.
WWE was in Los Angeles for Worlds Collide and Money In The Bank this weekend. The former included a match card featuring WWE, NXT and AAA talent competing against each other. Over the weekend, Shawn Michaels and Latin Lover (Victor Manuel Resendiz Ruiz) reunited and marked the occasion by recreating a photo of themselves taken 28 years ago.
Latin Lover shared the photo, along with the following (translated) caption:
“After 28 years, we recreated the photo with @ShawnMichaels,” he wrote on Twitter/X. “The years pass, but the passion for wrestling never does. Reunions worth their weight in gold.”

Was is the context of the photo?
The pair took a photo together in 1997, which was during another partnership between WWE and AAA. The Luchador was one of four AAA performers to appear in the 1997 Royal Rumble, which took place in Michaels’ hometown of San Antonio, Texas. It’s likely that the photo was taken during this period, although the exact details behind the timeframe are unknown.
Michaels also competed at the 1997 Royal Rumble event, however it was not in the battle royal-style match. Instead, Michaels won the main event that night, regaining the WWF Championship from Sycho Sid.
WWE recently touted the Worlds Collide crossover event as shattering a company record for live-streaming on YouTube. Catch up on full results from the event here.
This weekend also featured the 2025 edition of Money In The Bank. Check out everything that went down at Money In The Bank here.
