Former AEW star Mariah May just put the entire WWE NXT women’s division on notice with her stunning arrival.
Mariah May made a strong impression during the celebration of the new WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Jacy Jayne. Just few days ago, reports had mentioned that May was expected to join WWE imminently following the expiration of her AEW contract.
On WWE NXT, Jacy Jayne proudly recalled pulling off the most shocking victory in NXT history last week by dethroning Stephanie Vaquer, adding that she never doubted winning the NXT Women’s Championship.
Jayne admitted that fans had underestimated her for years, but she had been putting in the work, getting better, and staying ready. Her celebration was soon interrupted as several stars Lainey Reid, Lola Vice, Jordynne Grace, Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Lash Legend stepped forward to stake their claim for a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.
Suddenly, Thea Hail blindsided Jaida Parker, triggering an all-out brawl among all the stars everyone except Lainey Reid and Fatal Influence. Just as chaos erupted, the lights went out. When they returned, Mariah May stood on the balcony to a massive ovation.
With all eyes on her, May declared, “I have finally arrived. And ladies, you can call me the next NXT Women’s Champion. Because the best women’s division in the world just got a lot more glamorous.”
