In May 2025, WWE released several talents from both its main roster and NXT.
Fightful Select provided an update on some of the stars who were let go last month. Regarding Jakara Jackson, Fightful reported that some within NXT said they already knew that she was going to be released. Because of this, the creative team planned to separate her from Lash Legend. However, many were surprised since there had been talks months earlier about Legend and Jakara moving up to the main roster, including ideas for them to win the tag team titles.
Officials in MLW have expressed interest in potentially signing some of the women recently released by WWE. Gigi Dolin could be among those talents, as she has previously wrestled for MLW and is familiar with the promotion. Dolin has also wrestled for TNA earlier this year, toured with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling in 2018, and made a few appearances for AEW in the past.
Dakota Kai and Cora Jade, now known as Elayna Black, both secured new representation in recent weeks. It was mentioned that NXT stars faced a 30-day wait period before going to other companies, which has now ended. Meanwhile, main roster stars must wait 90 days before they can sign elsewhere. Notably, contracts for R-Truth and Carlito are set to expire within the next month.
