Kali Armstrong made history by becoming the inaugural WWE Evolve Women’s Champion.
During the May 28 episode of WWE Evolve, Kali Armstrong defeated Wendy Choo, Kylie Rae, and Kendal Grey in a fatal four-way match to become the inaugural Women’s Champion. She clinched the victory with her signature move, the Kali Connection, pinning Kylie Rae by writing her name in WWE Evolve history.
Following the historic win, WWE Superstar Natalya stepped into the ring to present the title. But in a bold move, Kali Armstrong snatched the championship from her hands and held celebrated around the ring. Although Natalya looked visibly upset, she eventually applauded Armstrong, showing respect to the new champion.
With Armstrong now holding the top prize in the women’s division, next week’s episode will feature the crowning of the first Men’s EVOLVE Champion. Edris Enofe, Keanu Carver, Sean Legacy, and Jackson Drake will battle to become the inaugural titleholder.
WWE Evolve was launched earlier this year as a secondary show for NXT. Reports reveal that NXT top women’s stars Jordynne Grace and Stephanie Vaquer will join the main roster, with Grace expected to appear on SmackDown and Vaquer on RAW.
With Kali Armstrong’s huge win as the inaugural EVOLVE Women’s Champion, could this led to her move to WWE NXT brand? As several stars prepare to leave NXT, only time will tell.
