Wade Barrett reacts to a potential reunion between the heave League of Nations.
While he currently serves as a member of the WWE SmackDown commentary team, fans may also remember Wade Barrett for his runs in various WWE factions, such as The Nexus, The Corre, and the League of Nations. Recent events in WWE have specifically fueled speculation on a potential revival of the latter faction. Barrett, though, doesn’t seem too keen on the idea.
Last month, Rusev returned to WWE and attacked Alpha Academy’s Otis and Akira Tozawa. This week, he defeated Tozawa in singles competition, courtesy of the Accolade. When Rusev refused to let go of his submission after the match, Sheamus rushed down to confront him, leading to a tense stare-off between the former League of Nations stablemates.
When approached with the idea of a League of Nations reunion on social media, Wade Barrett revealed that he wasn’t a fan of it. In fact, he responded to it with a puking GIF from the 2004 film, Team America: World Police.

When was the League of Nations in WWE?
Initially, the League of Nations ruled WWE from late 2015 until April 2016, with each of its members hailing from different countries. Sheamus is a native of Ireland, whereas Barrett has roots in England. Rusev, known as “The Bulgarian Brute,” was born in Bulgaria. The fourth member, Alberto Del Rio, hails from Mexico.
For the first time since 2016, all four members are back within the vicinity of WWE. While Sheamus and Rusev serve as WWE Raw roster members, Barrett calls the action for SmackDown and WWE premium live events. As for Del Rio, he is affiliated with AAA, which WWE recently acquired. Moreover, WWE and AAA are expected to work together even more moving forward, beginning with the Worlds Collide event on June 7.
