History was made at the WWE NXT Battleground Premium Live Event. It was the first WWE show on which the TNA World Heavyweight Championship was defended. The TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry put his title on the line against former NXT Champion Trick Williams.
Both wrestlers gave it their all. After a lot of back and forth, Trick Williams tried to put an end to Hendry by hitting him with the TNA title, but then he got caught by the referee. As the referee was trying to take the title away, Hendry capitalized and rolled up Williams for a pinfall. But Williams managed to kick out. The former NXT Champion then hit a flapjack and Hendry landed face first on the TNA World Championship. The referee did not count it as a disqualification as it was unintentional. Williams then hit the Trick Knee and pinned Hendry to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
Following his win, the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion mocked the former champion, Joe Hendry, by doing the iconic Joe Hendry spin.

The newly crowned TNA World Champion also hit the iconic Joe Hendry spin during their title match as well. He also paid homage to WWE Hall of Famer Booker T during the match by hitting Booker T’s iconic spinneroonie.
Trick Williams also took to Twitter to share a one-word message. He claimed that the new era of TNA is TrickNA.
It is also to be noted that at the Battleground Premium Live Event, Mike Santana made an appearance and claimed that he is next in line for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
