Karrion Kross didn’t have a match at WrestleMania 41, but he’s very grateful he was part of the show at all.
Kross wanted to be part of WrestleMania 41 and cited his history in Las Vegas as a major reason why. Fans campaigned for him to be Randy Orton’s opponent, but that did not come to fruition. Kross did get a major match with AJ Styles ahead of WrestleMania, but it came on RAW and was used to progress the storyline for Styles’ match with Logan Paul.
Kross was not scheduled to be part of WrestleMania 41, but ended up making a cameo on the show during the Styles vs. Paul match. Ariel Helwani asked where he watched each night of WrestleMania 41, and Kross shared how he found out he would get his moment after all.
“So at the beginning of the day, I was at WWE World, signing autographs and meeting fans, doing the meet and greet stuff. I think either that day or the day before, I did media locally for FOX, which was cool. I always wanted to do local media for FOX for wrestling. So that was a cool thing to do. I get a text, ‘We need you at the building now.’” [laughs]
Karrion Kross was a late addition to WrestleMania 41
Kross and Scarlett’s autograph session began at 10:30 am local time on Sunday morning. He said he got the text around “noon or 1 pm” that day, meaning he only found out he’d be on WrestleMania a few hours before the show began.
“This is like noon or 1 pm [local time] and I was like, ‘Oh boy…’ There’s a line of people here, I can’t get up and leave, so I just as politely and respectfully as I could, I just sent back a text, ‘Let me get through all of these people. They were waiting here in line for a very long time. I’m not [bailing on them]. I can’t.’ And they were cool with it, knocked out the line, went to work.”
“What you saw in the AJ [Styles vs.] Logan [Paul] match,” Kross said, after Helwani asked what they needed him for. “Honestly, I felt very grateful. I felt grateful to have any part in the show whatsoever at all. You could want the world, you could want it all and you could go for it, but it’s important not to lose the gratitude of even having the smallest part in something so big.”
