The Rock seems to really want to turn Cody Rhodes heel, but will he get his way?
On the road to WrestleMania 41, The Rock pitched an idea to turn Cody heel, leading into the biggest show of the year. This idea eventually changed to John Cena turning heel instead. However, The Rock teased following WrestleMania that Rhodes turning heel is something they can get back to down the road. But will it actually happen?
In an update from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), there are no plans within WWE to turn Cody Rhodes heel. While Rock’s heel turn pitch for Cody did happen, it’s said that Rhodes was not in favor of the turn due to the ticket sales and merchandise sales the company has been experiencing with him on top as a babyface.
WWE is in agreement with Cody as their are creative plans in place for him as a babyface for the rest of the year.
