Lexis King believes he’s a step above where he previously stood.
Following his initial move to WWE, Lexis King (fka Brian Pillman Jr.) deemed it as a necessary one as he had doubts about his future in All Elite Wrestling, his previous home. This week, King implied it to be a vertical move as well.
On Wednesday, King, a regular in WWE NXT, hyped up his appearance on WWE Evolve, which is considered to be a step below NXT, the highest-level in WWE’s developmental system. Or in baseball terms, Evolve is equivalent to AA, NXT is AA, and WWE Raw and SmackDown are reminiscent of the major leagues. So what does that makes AEW? According to King, possibly the equivalent of Single-A.
“So you’ll be watching the developmental for the developmental for the developmental? No worries… I’ll be busy developing, while you are watching others develop!” King wrote on X in response to a fan claiming they’d rather watch AEW than King on “the developmental for the developmental.”

When another fan claimed that King “barely” improved in AEW and continues with the same “struggles,” in WWE, King wrote “Idk man I been on TV for 6+ years and I just keep showing up to work. Maybe all these companies just like that I’m on time and never complain.”
Today, King confirmed that he was showing up at the WWE Performance Center to further develop his skills, regardless of online criticism.
“On my way to the performance center to DEVELOP my skills!!” he wrote alongside a photo of himself in the car.
