If you thought the initial launch of Dana White‘s Power Slap was bad, just wait until he launches the pro wrestling version.
Dana White launched Power Slap in 2022 as a reality show on TBS, which aired on Wednesdays following AEW Dynamite. It was canceled by TBS after one season due to poor viewership and later moved to Rumble, where even fewer people continue to view it.
Despite the negative press and the general audience rejecting the concept, it hasn’t stopped White from pushing forward with the brand. And now a pro wrestling version of Power Slap is reportedly on its way.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), inquiries were made to “dozens of independent wrestlers” over a month ago for a special season of Power Slap. Former WWE Superstar Kizarny (Sinn Bohdi) is reportedly in charge of recruitment for the show.
Independent talent who will reportedly be participating are as follows:
- Cassanova Valentine
- Mechawolf
- Juicy Finau
- Stunt Marshall
- Mazzerti
- Facade
- HollyHood Haley J
- Alice Crowley
- Christi Jaynes
- Marty the Moth
- Bruno El Oso Blanco
- The Suavectios
- Dani Mo
Regarding why these talents have elected to do the show, Sapp reports that despite concerns over the potential for concussions, the pay for wrestlers is “very good.”
Sapp states that White met with a lot of wrestlers this week, and the series is supposed to carry over into International Fight Week.
