Did Sabrina Carpenter pay tribute to Gunther at The Met Gala on Monday night?
No, not exactly. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from making the unlikely comparison.
Sabrina Carpenter was one of the guests to glam it up at this year’s Met Gala. The event is normally marked by celebrities wearing bold and interesting fashion choices on the red carpet. Carpenter wore a scarlet bodysuit with a matching top coat with tails, which drew comparisons to a ringmaster… or in this case, WWE Superstar Gunther.
“The Ring General” is known for wearing a full-length coat to the ring for his WWE matches. He’s worn scarlet, red and black, among other colors. However, it was Carpenter’s look that drew the most attention on Monday. Many fans immediately caught on and made the comparison, reacting to the look on social media:

Gunther is currently feuding with Pat McAfee, and the pair will face off at WWE Backlash in St. Louis. They had a final face-off on Monday’s episode of RAW, where Gunther told McAfee that he was going to choke him out and drop him like a wet towel.
