The TNA World Champion Joe Hendry got his big WrestleMania moment when he answered Randy Orton’s open challenge. WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently commented on The Glorious One’s WrestleMania debut.
Booker T praised Joe Hendry while speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast. Booker also shared that despite criticism of the match with The Viper, it was one ‘hell of a moment.’
“People can say what they want to say about Joe Hendry’s match with Randy Orton. Which, it wasn’t one of those 30-minute matches or anything like that. But I tell you what, it was a damn hell of a moment for Joe Hendry.” [H/T Wrestling INC]
Booker also compared Hendry’s moment to WrestleMania 19, when he wrestled Triple H for the world title. He also said that as a professional wrestler, he remembers how much he got paid that night rather than the moment itself.
Booker T remembers the check more than what happened to him at WrestleMania 19
“Same thing with me — WrestleMania 19 — people always talk about that moment, but I remember the check more than the moment!”
Booker T also added that one of the main reasons for Hendry’s WrestleMania debut being special was the fact that it was a surprise, as nobody knew who was going to answer the challenge.
“It was a hell of a moment (…) just because people [were] waiting and anticipating who it was it gonna be. And when they played the music? The pop that was heard around the stadium told me that Joe Hendry would be back at WrestleMania again,” Booker T said.
Booker T previously said that he “didn’t lose any sleep” over losing to Triple H, and it sounds like Hendry shouldn’t, either.
