Naomi took a lighthearted approach in responding to a controversial joke made at her expense.
One of the popular trends of the current era is ‘The Roast.’ Now, WWE has joined in on the trend. The first ever Roast of WrestleMania hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe in Las Vegas following night two of WrestleMania 41. The roast has not aired on television or streamed yet, but full audio of the event leaked online last week.
One of the jokes was a shot at former TNA Knockouts Champion Naomi, mocking her and Jade Cargill’s hairstyles. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion reacted to the Roast.
The remark, which was revealed in audio and transcription, was as follows: “Naomi and Jade Cargill had their match. When it comes to their rivalry, WEAVE only just begun. And they will face off again at ‘In Your Waffle House.’”
Naomi took to Twitter/X to respond and said the comment was defamation, because she has “never worn a weave in [my] life.”
“wtf! This is defamation I’ve never worn a weave in my life ⚠️,” Naomi tweeted.
Naomi had wrestled former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill in a one-on-one match at WrestleMania 41. After a tough fight, Cargill managed to defeat her former friend.
The rivalry between them isn’t over yet. This past Friday on SmackDown, Naomi attacked Jade Cargill again during her match against the current WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.
