Chelsea Green speaks out after losing WWE Women’s United States title on SmackDown.
On April 25th, during WWE SmackDown at Dixies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, Chelsea Green defended her WWE Women’s United States Title against Zelina Vega. Vega, who had defeated Green twice in non-title matches, finally earned her chance at the title.
In the match’s final moments, Green’s allies, Piper Niven and Alba Fyre, attacked Zelina Vega. The referee caught them in the act and ejected them from ringside, leaving Green visibly frustrated. Taking advantage of the distraction, Vega quickly hit Green with a Code Red to claim the win, marking her first singles title victory.
After holding the WWE Women’s United States Title for 131 days, Chelsea Green reflected on her loss. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her thoughts, writing, “Goodbye for now @WWE. This is my farewell address” alongside an image of the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC, with the U.S. flag waving.
Chelsea Green gets candid about being left off WWE WrestleMania 41
WWE Superstar Chelsea Green recently spoke with Adrian Hernandez of Unlikely. When asked about the newly introduced women’s championships not being defended at WrestleMania 41, Green admitted that she was upset by it but believes all the women who competed at the event did an amazing job.
“I mean, at the end of the day, of course, after a crazy year, the pinnacle is WrestleMania. So I felt the want and the need for these titles to be on the show,” Chelsea Green said. “I wanted them to be on the show. But at the end of the day, we only have so many hours and so many spots on the card. And I think that the women that were on the show did an amazing job of representing all of us. So, although I’m upset and I wish I could have been on it, I’m really proud of the girls.”
