Lors de Smackdown Live, Sami Zayn et Kevin Owens se sont affrontés afin d’avoir le droit à une chance pour le WWE Championship de AJ Styles à Fastlane. Les deux n’ont pas pu se départager suite à l’intervention du champion, et Daniel Bryan a annoncé un Triple Threat Match entre les trois pour le PPV. Cependant, ce combat n’est pas aux goûts de Shane McMahon, qui vient d’annoncer que ce combat sera un Fatal 4 Way. Le quatrième homme sera Dolph Ziggler ou Baron Corbin, les deux s’affronteront lors du prochain épisode de Smackdown Live.
