It appears WWE might be looking to resurrect an old premium live event name based on a new trademark filing.
From 2016 to 2020, WWE ran a premium live event titled Clash of Champions. After a five-year absence, it appears that the company might be looking to bring this event back at some point in 2026.
On December 1, WWE filed a new trademark with the USPTO for the term “Clash of Champions.”
The description of the trademark is as follows:
(Paper goods and printed matter) Paper, cardboard and goods made from these materials, not included in other classes; printed matter; bookbinding material; photographs; stationery; adhesives for stationery or household purposes; artists’ materials; paint brushes; typewriters and office requisites (except furniture); instructional and teaching material (except apparatus); plastic materials for packaging (not included in other classes); playing cards; printers’ type; printing blocks.
WWE currently holds multiple trademarks on the Clash of Champions name, so it seems the company is gearing up for something.
What happened at WWE Clash of Champions in 2020?
