Fans in attendance for Jimmy Kimmel Live were treated to a dose of WWE physicality last night.
Stepping in for Jimmy Kimmel, country singer Jelly Roll served as the guest host on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, with WWE SmackDown star Randy Orton as his interview guest. Together, the two chatted about Orton’s role as a father, his hardcore match against WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, as well as their upcoming tag bout at WWE SummerSlam, which will also mark Jelly Roll’s in-ring debut.
As fans later saw, Randy Orton and Jelly Roll weren’t alone on set as Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul, their SummerSlam opponents, hijacked the show. Though McIntyre initially claimed that he came in peace, he and Orton began brawling after he later made some unkind remarks.
Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton got involved
“Relax, guys. I come in peace,” McIntyre said to the pair. “You’re screwed at SummerSlam, but I’m bringing some positivity. I mean, this world’s so negative, guys. Do you want some positivity in this negative world of ours? This man, Jelly Roll, right here, he lost over 200 pounds, working his ass off. You truly are an inspiration to trailer trash all across the world, brother. And I just want to know, and everybody around the world wants to know, after you lost all that weight, how did it feel to finally see your little tootsie roll for the first time in 20 years?”
Orton and McIntyre fought to the backstage area. Jelly Roll then turned to see Logan Paul, who insisted that Jelly was a “greasy, redneck prison rat.” Paul slapped Jelly and encouraged him to leave the set. However, Paul received a chokeslam through the JKL desk, courtesy of the soon-to-be-debuting Jelly Roll. In his final act as guest host, Jelly then signed off the show with a mention of SummerSlam and a sea of cheers.
