Rikishi recently shared that he felt nervous about his family traveling to Saudi Arabia for WWE’s latest shows.
Tensions in the Middle East had been rising in recent weeks, with the situation between the United States and Iran reaching a high point. Despite the risks, WWE moved forward with its scheduled shows, SmackDown and Night of Champions, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fortunately, both shows took place without any trouble.
Speaking on his Rikishi Fatu Off The Top podcast, Rikishi admitted he felt nervous about the situation. He was especially concerned for his family, the WWE roster, and staff who traveled for the show.
“Yes, I was nervous. I was nervous for the family members. I was nervous for all the roster, the staff, everybody that had anything to do with the part of the show… We’re going through some scary times… to be able to, you know, take a risk, to fly out there… it’s a very scary thing for a parent or family member… knowing that they’re going into harm’s way like that.”
Several members of the Anoa’i family took part in WWE’s two shows in Saudi Arabia. Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, Naomi, Nia Jax, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu all competed during the shows.

Solo Sikoa won the United States Championship after members of the new Bloodline got involved in the match. JC Mateo, the returning Tanga Loa, and debuting Tala Tonga all interfered and helped Sikoa beat Jacob Fatu.
Reacting to his son Solo Sikoa’s first main roster title win, Rikishi said he didn’t take sides between Solo and Jacob Fatu. “Well, you know what? I can’t pick sides for neither one of them,” he said. “I’m very happy that, you know, I’m assuming… they had one hell of a match. And you know, I look forward to getting home and to see it, but, you know, it’s a good feeling. I was happy when Jacob won it, and now I’m happy that Solo has won it.
