Jerry Lawler recently shared that WWE covered his hospital expenses after he suffered a cardiac arrest in 2012.
In an interview with Busted Open Radio, Lawler recalled his scary cardiac heart on an episode of WWE RAW. He mentioned how little he remembered about the incident. He explained that Michael Cole had to fill him in on what had happened.
He also revealed that, despite being treated in Canada where healthcare is typically free, the hospital billed him $20,000. WWE stepped in and took care of the full amount. “They kept me in the hospital for a few days in Canada. Free healthcare- you’re supposed to get in Canada, that’s a big lie, they sent me a bill for 20,000 dollars. Yes, WWE paid.” [H/T: Fightful]
Back in 2012 during an episode of WWE RAW, Lawler collapsed at the commentary table while calling a match. Medical personnel quickly rushed him to the hospital, where he ultimately recovered. The WWE Hall of Famer had once again had a health scare in 2023 when he suffered from a stroke.
Jerry Lawler still watches WWE, but he doesn’t have Netflix
In March, Jerry Lawler appeared on Sportskeeda Wrestlebinge and asked if he still watches WWE, he said he does. However, he explained that he only watches SmackDown and Premium Live Events because he doesn’t have Netflix.
“I do, yeah, when I get the chance. When I get the chance to, I, um… The one—what’s the one Raw has gone to? Netflix. I don’t have that. I watch SmackDown,” Jerry Lawler said.
