Patrick Clark, formerly known as Velveteen Dream, asks for an apology and hopes to return to WWE.
Patrick Clark had some words on his Instagram this week, speaking out after Mike ‘Duke’ Droese was indicted for attempting to exploit a minor. In his first post, Clark said people who commit crimes against children don’t get to walk free. Clark pointed out that he is still a free man.
Back in 2020, people accused Clark of inappropriate behavior, including sending messages to minors. While WWE did an investigation which didn’t find any evidence. However, one accuser claimed WWE never contacted them.
WWE released Patrick Clark in 2021 after the allegations against him became public. He denied all the claims. Since his release Clark has also been faced multiple arrests. In response to the recent news about Mike ‘Duke’ Droese, Clark used his second Instagram slide to call out the wrestling community and his critics for judging him unfairly.
Clark wrote, “A LOT OF YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY FOR DRAGGING ME THRU THE MUD. KNOWING 5 YEARS LATER HERE I STAND STILL FREE AND WITHOUT A SINGLE CHARGE. BUT I GET IT. IT’S VERY HARD FOR PEOPLE TO ADMIT WHEN THEY WERE WRONG AND MALICIOUS. BUT HEY THAT’S WRESTLING.”
While calling out fans for judging him harshly, Patrick Clark also encouraged them to help him return to WWE. He asked supporters to reach out to Triple H and show their support online. “IF YOU LOVE ME LIKE YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME, THE BOSS’ (HHH/HBK) PAY ATTENTION TO SOCIAL MEDIA. IT’S SIMPLE. #WeWantTheDREAM AND SPAM @TripleH @WWE. THEY WILL HEAR YOU! WE CAN MAKE ENOUGH NOISE TO DROWN OUT THE LIES AND THE HATE.”
Since leaving WWE, Clark hasn’t competed in any major wrestling promotion. As he continues to push for his return, only time will tell if he gets another chance.
