Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a single contact lens.
In 2009, WWE Champion Jeff Hardy became temporarily blinded and burned (in storyline) after pyrotechnics malfunctioned during his ring entrance. His brother Matt Hardy later claimed responsibility for the incident as a part of their feud leading into WrestleMania 25.
Unlike Jeff, a current WWE camera operator sustained legitimate damage to his eye in a similar incident that occurred in 2023. In Logan Paul‘s latest YouTube vlog, the cameraman explained what happened.
“I blew my eye out with a firework [in] 2023. I thought they were done, I just bent down and it shot right up. Hit me right in the face, square in the eye,” he said before later adding that “I can’t even see [Paul’s] camera guy right now, so I don’t know what the f*** he’s even shooting.”
Despite the damage to his eyeball, the camera mans seems to have taken it in stride, as he continues to joke about it to this day. “Best thing about this is I save money on contacts. I only have to buy one,” he said.
Logan Paul recalled the cameraman making a similar joke during their recent encounter on the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame red carpet event. “I was walking the carpet and he was really close to me,” Paul recounted. “I said ‘Bro, back up’ and he said ‘I’m sorry I didn’t see you.’”
This portion of Paul’s vlog was filmed ahead of Monday’s broadcast of WWE Raw in Omaha, Nebraska. After the show, Paul notably attacked WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso, then retreated through the crowd.
