R-Truth, a fan favorite of the WWE Universe, received a fine for smoking live on RAW. However, he knew the penalty was coming as Vince McMahon put him up to it in the first place.
During a 2011 episode of WWE RAW, R-Truth turned heel and attacked John Morrison. Afterwards, a fan handed R-Truth a pack of cigarettes and he lit one up, blowing smoke in Morrison’s face. The shocking incident caused fans in the arena to chant, “That’s illegal.” The chant was in reference to London’s ban on smoking in all indoor public spaces implemented a few months prior.
Reflecting on the shocking moment, R-Truth recently appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet and discussed how unexpected the controversy was.
“Vince had caught me smoking, for real. So he’s like, You gonna smoke in front of the whole [arena], and it was illegal. You can’t do that over there [because you’re in an arena], you can’t do that. I broke the rules, $20,000 fine, legit for a shoot. When asked if he paid the fine, he revealed that he didn’t, “[You paid it?] Hell no! I had paying potential, but no!”
R-Truth asked WWE to make a little Jimmy Action figure
After R-Truth turned heel, he introduced Little Jimmy, an imaginary friend that became very popular. At first, Little Jimmy was part of his crazy heel character, but it later became a funny and loved part of his persona, even after he turned face.
R-Truth was a recent guest on Insights with Chris Van Vliet. While discussing the popularity of his Little Jimmy character, Truth reveals he pitched the idea to Stephanie McMahon that they should make a Little Jimmy action figure that’s just an empty box.
“I asked Stephanie McMahon, could I make a Little Jimmy action figure? She said, what it’s gonna be? I said, nothing, but it’ll be in the box,” Truth said. “She’s like, Oh my gosh. She laughs. She said, Truth, I don’t think we can do that. We got to give them something. I said, Well, I guess put a stick beside them or something. They got the package. She said no, we can’t do that.”
