CM Punk wants Rey Mysterio one-on-one.
Upon returning to WWE in November 23, CM Punk entered a locker room mixed with new and familiar faces. One of the more familiar faces comes from Rey Mysterio, whom Punk memorably feuded with in the early months of 2010. According to Punk, he hopes to square off with Mysterio again during his current run, though for a different reason.
“The women are carrying the show a lot of times,” Punk told Netflix. “I think Rhea Ripley is a Superstar. Liv Morgan had an MVP year [in 2024]. I like watching Gunther compete. I hate Dominik Mysterio, that’s neither here nor there. Guys I want to work with — Jacob Fatu. Got a little taste at WarGames, but one-on-one stuff is my bread and butter, [there’s] more pressure that way … Finn Balor is fantastic. I selfishly want to lock back up with Rey Mysterio, teach him a lesson for having such a brat kid.”
That “brat kid” is in reference to Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio, who has acted as a heel since September 2022. Dominik’s has heel turn has resulted in a brief stint in jail, an affair with Liv Morgan, and two WrestleMania matches against Rey. Additionally, “Dirty Dom” previously referred to CM Punk as a “washed old f***” in response to Punk calling him a “Lil B*tch.”
Since coming back to WWE, Punk has battled Dominik twice in singles live event competition. Meanwhile, he and Rey have team together on two occasions, also in an untelevised setting.
