AJ Styles and CM Punk are arguably two of the most influential wrestlers of this generation. Their paths first crossed on the independent circuit in the early 2000s. Though each man would go his separate way, fate ultimately pitted them against each other in a WWE ring earlier this month.
For those unaware, Styles and Punk squared off in a Money in the Bank qualifying triple threat match that also featured one El Grande Americano on the June 2, 2025 episode of WWE RAW. Punk would put over Styles huge in a social media post after the match.
“I’ve got a lot on my plate right now but I’ll always make room for you,” Punk said on his Instagram Story. “Thank you for the boot print on my nose. Let’s not wait 21 years for the next time. You’re a legend.”
And speaking of praise, it appears Styles and Punk’s influence extends well beyond borders as both of these superstars received tribute from a Pakistani wrestler during his entrance.
AJ Styles and CM Punk get love from Pakistani wrestler Kovu Brandon
Pakistani wrestler Kovu Brandon appears to be a massive AJ Styles fan considering the theme music he picked for his entrance. Back in 2023, Kovu squared off against Sher Khan for the REW World Heavyweight Championship at an event in the Pakistani city of Karachi.
Brandon walked to the ring with AJ Styles’ iconic ROH theme, Demi Gods, blasting through the speakers. The REW Champion also echoed CM Punk’s “It’s clobberin’ time” catchphrase before getting in the ring for the action.

CM Punk most recently competed for the Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena at Night of Champions. As for AJ Styles, the Phenomenal One was booked to take on Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship at the Saudi PLE but the match was canceled due to Dom’s injury.
