The Rock will induct Mark Kerr into the UFC Hall of Fame later this year.
According to Andreas Hale of ESPN, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be inducting two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Mark Kerr into their hall of fame this June.
Mark Kerr is best known by the nickname, The Smashing Machine. If that nickname sounds familiar to you, it should. The Rock is doing a film on Mark Kerr’s life that will release this October by the same name.
The announcement of Kerr’s induction took place at UFC 316 on Saturday evening.
UFC president and CEO Dana White had the following to say regarding Kerr’s induction:
“Mark Kerr was a high-level wrestler who also fought for PRIDE and was one of the early pioneers of the sport.”
Kerr will be the 21st member of UFC’s “Pioneer Era” wing. The induction will take place later this month on June 26.
