Sheamus reacted to reports of WWE WrestleMania 42 returning to Las Vegas.
A few weeks ago, reports said WWE dropped New Orleans as the host for WrestleMania 42, despite The Rock announcing it earlier this year. Instead, New Orleans will now host Money In The Bank in 2026. Las Vegas has since emerged as the top choice for WrestleMania 42. Reports also indicated that WWE might be looking to make Vegas a regular home for the event.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Sheamus mentioned that Las Vegas would be a great spot for WrestleMania. The Celtic Warrior said this year’s event there was a big success. “Vegas is great. Look, I won’t come out during the daytime obviously for a lot of reasons but it obviously was a huge hit there this year. That move is above my pay grade but you know, either way it was a success so they’re obviously going to go back again because it was such a huge hit.” [H/T: WresltingInc]
WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas was a huge financial success for WWE. Now Vegas potentially land the WrestleMania once again. If it happens, it would mark the first time since WrestleMania 4 and 5 both held at Trump Plaza in in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Sheamus on missing WWE WrestleMania 41
In an interview with Daily Mail, Sheamus admitted he felt gutted after missing the chance to compete at WrestleMania 41 this year in Las Vegas.
“I was gutted that I wasn’t at Mania,” Sheamus said. “The last appearance that I had was at the Rumble. I want to be in the mix. I want to be there. I’m more passionate now about my job than I ever have been. Some of the guys are like, ‘You’ve been at so many WrestleManias, so it’s okay.’ But it’s not okay, I love what I do.
“I love going out there in front of a crowd, I love putting on banger after banger. I love that intensity, I love setting the bar so high that everybody, including the main event guys who have months and months to prepare, are trying to catch up with me. Until the wheels come off and I can’t do it anymore, I want to go out there. I don’t want to miss anything, and I don’t want to miss a WrestleMania. It was tough. I’m not going to lie, it was really, really hard.”
“I had pitched to hopefully get in the Intercontinental title stuff again,” Sheamus continued. “They’re probably tired about me talking about it, but that’s the one title that I have left to become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam Champion in WWE. That’s the Holy Grail, that’s it. But I wasn’t happy sitting at home. I don’t want to miss WrestleMania, I don’t want to go there and not be part of the biggest show of the year. It’s tough for me. I don’t care, if you have passion for what you do, you don’t want to miss that.”
