The rivalry between TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry and former NXT World Champion Trick Williams has been heating up. Both stars have been attacking each other in either brands. Williams showed up at TNA Rebellion and took out the Prestigious One. Hendry returned the favor on the following episode of NXT.
Last night on NXT, Joe Hendry competed in a 6-man tag team match. Towards the end of the match, Trick Williams showed up and took out Hendry, costing him and his team the match. Later in the night when Williams was looking strong in the Battle Royal to determine Oba Femi’s next challenger, Hendry showed up and cost Trick Williams the match.
Things escalated from there as the two began to brawl with each other.
Following this, the TNA World Champion had a word with NXT General Manager Ava. She had the perfect solution to sort things out between Hendry and Williams. Ava announced that history will be made at NXT Battleground when the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be defended on an NXT PLE for the first time. Hendry will be defending his title against Trick Williams at NXT Battleground.
