Following Seth Rollins’ seemingly injure his knee last night at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, a new report shines a light on his status.
According to a new report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sap, Rollins’ injury, sadly, does seem to be real. Sapp notes that Rollins was backstage at the ongoing WWE Evolution on crutches, and also sporting a brace on his knee. The brief report also notes that Rollins’ injury “looked bad” right after he was helped backstage at SNME.
It’s unclear exactly what happened to Rollins. In a match against LA Knight at SNME, Rollins hit a springboard senton and set up a moonsault from the middle rope on the opposite side of the ring. Knight rolled out of the way to avoid it, and Rollins landed awkwardly on his knee. He rolled to the ropes as commentary mentioned that he must have tweaked his knee. Rollins then dragged himself to the corner as the referee tried to check on him.
Seth Rollins conferenced with Paul Heyman and the referee, then the doctor came out to the ring. The doctor and Rollins spoke briefly, then Rollins pulled himself up and the match was restarted. Rollins hobbled his way over as Knight rushed him and hit the BFT. Knight immediately made the cover and raised his arms. However, he looked visibly upset about the injury and impromptu finish and could be seen yelling ‘f*ck’ before leaving the ring.
Rollins previously tore his ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus in 2015, which kept him sidelined for almost a full year. Following WrestleMania 40, Rollins also underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus he had been wrestling with.
