Becky Lynch has not had great luck with buying pre-owned cars in the United States.
The Women’s Intercontinental Champion was a guest on the AreYouGarbage? Comedy Podcast, where she was asked what her family car and her first car were. She ran down a list of cars before airing her grievances about the “racket” that is the used car system in the United States, highlighting some of her issues over the years.
“I was living in Orlando, couldn’t get around. I bought this little banger of a [car], it broke down as soon as I got off the lot. It smelled gross, it was disgusting, it was a death trap,” Lynch said of the car, which she couldn’t remember the brand, but did easily recall her feelings about it. “It was an awful little piece of shit. I hated that car.”
Lynch said that her friend, former NXT talent and fellow Irishman Joe Cabray, got fired and gave her his car. That car blew up on the way to Lynch getting a root canal, but her travel woes weren’t over just yet.

“I was at a show and there was this security guy. He was driving a Volkswagen Beetle. I was like, ‘That’s my dream car right there! That’s my dream car!’ He’s like, ‘Well, I’ll sell it to you.’ It was reasonable, [$8,000], but I couldn’t afford it,” Lynch explained.
“This was 2013, ’14 maybe. I bought it off of him, and he was so nice, he was letting me pay him weekly installments because he still owed money on it,” she continued. “But then I was able to pay it off, but then he died. He never paid it off, so then they repossessed it. So that was my car experience. It was terrible, he was such a lovely guy too. God Bless. But, that was my dream car.”
Becky Lynch admitted she drives a Tesla now, and chose it for the environmental benefits.
