Recently, former NXT World Champion Karrion Kross has been garnering a lot of popularity among fans. His WWE merchandise was also one of the top three in merchandise sales, overtaking John Cena and Randy Orton.
Karrion Kross was a guest on the most recent episode of The Ariel Helwani Show. During the interview, the former NXT World Champion revealed why he was not present at Allegiant Stadium for Night 1 of WrestleMania 41.
“Night one, I am at the hotel and I am watching CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins absolutely kill it,” Karrion Kross said, before Helwani asked why he wasn’t at Allegiant Stadium for WrestleMania 41. “I was like in a state of avoidance, to be honest with you. It kinda killed me. Anytime I — and I want to be there any time I can in any capacity, but man, sometimes when you see that full house and you’re not part of the show — for all of us, I’m not an isolated situation — it’s soul killing because you want to be out there so badly in front of that crowd. And you know with the lineup on the card, it’s going to be a show people who are there are never going to forget live and they’re creating moments out there.
“Maybe even for some people, it’s a first-time moment live. That’s why a lot of us got into this. It’s not about the high spots, it’s about telling the stories and creating those moments. And not being able to do that, I just thought to myself that it might be mentally better for me to watch from here and study and appreciate it from the hotel,” Karrion Kross said.

“It’s overwhelming. It can be overwhelming. Even last year in Philadelphia was very overwhelming. And I like… Obviously I like being around wrestling and I love being around the pageantry and all that stuff. There was a point in Philadelphia where I was just trying to focus on my match and that became difficult. Obviously it ended up working out. We ended up having a great match and finding the time to do that.
“But yeah, even the… Even walking down the street becomes an event. I was trying to go visit my friends at WrestleCon, MxM. And just walking to that hotel was like, ‘Oh my god! There’s so many…’ You know? People are stopping me. People were doing this doing that. So, it was… It’s a lot, right? I’m thankful for the opportunity for it. But yeah, some space from it is going to be a good venture for me.”
“Listen, I was there [WrestleMania 33] that weekend. I was all over the damn place. I wrestled Kieth Lee and it was busy. It’s too much. Too much for my body. Too much for my body, too much for my brain, too much for… It’s a lot. If you’re able to go as a WWE… I’ll say this too. As a WWE talent who has been on the main roster and never had that experience, it’s a difficult pill to swallow. It really is,” Donovan Dijak said.
